FAQ
Questions about Innsbruck without a car
Where should I stay in Innsbruck without a car?
Somewhere central and close to the main station. Our apartments Maria and Joseph at Michael-Gaismair-Straße 7 are about an 8-minute walk from Innsbruck main station and 15 from the old town. Joseph sleeps up to 7 guests, Maria up to 4 – each with its own kitchen and self check-in.
Do I need a car in Innsbruck?
No. The city centre is compact: much of it is walkable and the rest is covered by buses, trams and cable cars. A car is more of a burden downtown – the streets around our apartments are short-stay parking zones and the nearest car park is at the main station.
How do I get from Munich Airport to Innsbruck?
Take the S-Bahn S1 or S8 to Munich main station (about 40 minutes), then a direct EuroCity or Railjet train to Innsbruck (about 1 hour 50 minutes). From Innsbruck main station it is about an 8-minute walk to our apartments.
How do I get from Innsbruck Airport to the apartment?
Take bus F to the city centre (about 20 minutes) or a taxi (around 10 minutes).
Can I go skiing without a car?
Yes. In winter, ski buses run from Innsbruck to the surrounding ski areas and are included with the SKI plus CITY Pass. The Nordkette is reached straight from town by the Nordkette cable car, the Patscherkofel by IVB bus to Igls.
Can I combine Munich and Innsbruck in one trip?
Yes – direct trains link both cities in about 1 hour 50 minutes. In Munich we also host the Mozart Apartment for up to 6 guests, a 15-minute walk from the main station: www.apartment-munich.com/en/muenchen-und-innsbruck/
I am coming by car after all – where can I park?
Maria and Joseph have no private parking; the main station car park is about a 5-minute walk away. If you want free parking, our Apartment Landkind in Sistrans is the better fit – with its own parking space and EV charger, about a 15-minute drive from Innsbruck.
Can I book directly with the host?
Yes. The booking calendar on this page books direct, without the Booking.com or Airbnb markup. Questions? Call or WhatsApp +43 676 3002577 or email hi@peakstay.at.
